HONG KONG, Feb 22, 2023 – Franklin Templeton has launched its new FTGF ClearBridge Global Infrastructure Income Fund in Hong Kong, to meet investors’ demand in diversifying their portfolios for income and inflation protection.
ClearBridge Investments, one of the specialist investment managers of Franklin Templeton, is a global equity manager with approximately US$ 151.3 billion in assets under management as of 31 December 2022. Managed by an experienced investment management team in Australia, Nick Langley, Shane Hurst, Charles Hamieh and Daniel Chu, the FTGF ClearBridge Global Infrastructure Income Fund aims to provide investors with long-term inflation-linked capital growth over an economic cycle with a focus on sustainable income through investing in high quality infrastructure assets in the listed equity market.
Shane Hurst, Portfolio Manager of FTGF ClearBridge Global Infrastructure Income Fund, says:
“We specialize in investing exclusively in listed infrastructure across the globe. These publicly traded infrastructure securities enjoy the benefits of the infrastructure asset class, namely long- term stable cash flows, lower correlation with other asset classes, inflation protection and income. Our sources of income are diversified as we invest in utilities, communications towers, pipelines, transport infrastructure and renewable energy. With the increasing demand in the sector, we believe that infrastructure is a market that is growing astronomically in both developed and emerging markets over the next couple of decades.”
Simon Wong, Head of Retail Sales, Greater China, Franklin Templeton, comments:
“We are excited to offer FTGF ClearBridge Global Infrastructure Income Fund to retail investors in Hong Kong. This fund focuses on infrastructure as an asset class, typically made available only for private or high net worth investors. Amidst economic uncertainties, the infrastructure asset class acts as a good diversifier and inflation hedge. A key characteristic of the fund is that it is income-oriented, benefiting investors who seek income as well as total return. Our dedicated and long-established specialist infrastructure team has the flexibility to construct portfolios and allocate to areas they see opportunities over the long term and that’s what sets us apart from our peers.”
